Communication is vital, it is how we engage with and participate in the world around us, and ultimately make sense of the world.
However for approximately 1% of five-year-olds – who have severe and
complex speech, communication and language needs – greater support is
needed when entering school in England to allow them to express even
the most basic needs or feelings.
