Baston House School is an independent special school for children and young people aged from 5 to 19 years with autism and associated complex needs.
Our school environment supports learning and promotes the well-being of pupils and staff through a strong sense of community cohesion, and through developing social understanding, improving well-being, and enhancing academic achievement and independence.
We support learners in achieving their full potential by putting learning and well-being at the heart of everything that we do. A key factor in any child's learning and well-being is the teacher, our highly experienced, skilled, dedicated and committed teaching teams and support staff work together to provide a safe and engaging environment to meet the needs of the people that we support.
The school's designated team reflects the needs of the children and young people that learn with us, however additional support can also be accessed from other specialists within the wider Clinical Team. This enables us to be responsive to any newly identified, time limited or changing needs of a child or young person throughout their placement with us.
"Students' achievement is good. This is shown in the quality of work in their books, observations of their learning in lessons, and through the school's own information about each student’s progress. This good progress from their starting points is as a result of good teaching and a carefully matched curriculum that successfully meets the students' needs." (Ofsted)
Baston House School provides effective specialist education and support to pupils with autism and to their families, enabling pupils to achieve their full potential in education and in life outside school.
