At Helen Allison School we deliver a high quality, relevant and enjoyable education and use our expert knowledge of autism to find the best possible way for each student to learn to the best of their ability.

Following the principles of MyProgress®, The National Autistic Society’s strategy for working with autistic students, we ensure they get the best start in life with an education tailored to them.

We believe in preparing our students for fulfilling adult lives, so our main curriculum is enhanced with a wide range of social activities and community-based learning.

Through our hub, older students partake in work experience, pursue formal qualifications or might even organise a football tournament with other local schools and colleges.

Rated ‘Outstanding’ for education, and ‘Outstanding’ for care under the new Ofsted criteria, we are always pushing for excellence for our students, thinking creatively to adapt to their needs and aspirations.

As one of only a few schools with our own therapeutic team, your child will develop not only academically but foster strong social and communication skills so they can thrive alongside

their peers.

Placements are funded by yourlocal authority.

“Teachers plan lessons so they build on pupils’ interests to capture their enthusiasm and support likely future pathways.”

Ofsted, 2017
