Thames Valley School is a high-achieving specialist school for children and young people on the autism spectrum. Our school has been purpose-built for us, meaning we could design it to be perfectly suitable for our students. We have calming pods where children can relax or read, independent rooms attached to every classroom, outdoor play areas for all ages and a state-of-the-art innovation hub, opening up opportunities for pupils to take on digital projects such as coding, social media and cyber security.

We have high expectations of our pupils, and through delivering the National Curriculum at all key stages, we expect the majority of our students to attain at least the same levels as their mainstream school peers. At age 16 our pupils take national qualifications, and our aim is for most to achieve a wide range of GCSE’s at A to C or equivalent vocational qualifications. Small classes, committed and experienced specialist teachers and a wonderful learning environment all contribute to making our school an exceptional place to be. We follow the principles of The National Autistic Society’s MyProgress® strategy to give your child an education specific to them, so they can flourish.

Placements are funded by your local authority.

“The school has been the making of my son, he loves coming to school!”
