Options Trent Acres offers integrated education and therapeutic care to children and young people aged between 8 to 18 years old with autism, associated learning disabilities and complex needs. Options Trent Acres provides a highly structured environment which helps the people that we support to manage their behaviour and develop personal care, social interaction and independence skills.

Options Trent Acres is situated on a 12 acre site which provides a wide range of facilities and services within the homes and throughout the site, including indoor and outdoor riding arenas, outside sports area, outdoor play equipment and access to arts and crafts facilities.

The School has various animals on-site including; horses, alpacas, goats, donkeys, rabbits, geese, ducks and chickens which support and encourages relaxation and promotes a calm environment for students to start their therapeutic journey.

Our team reflects the needs of the children and young people that learn with us, however additional support can also be accessed from other specialists within the wider Clinical Team. This enables us to be responsive to the newly identified, time limited or changing needs of an individual throughout their placement with us.

At Trent Acres School we take a person-centred and outcomes focused approach to providing education that is designed to help each student exercise choice and control, increase their confidence and prepare them for adulthood. We believe that education should be individually tailored and delivered in a variety of environments, with a curriculum that encourages the development of functional communication, social and life skills as well as academic achievement and community access. Each student's individual learning abilities, requirements and holistic and academic progression are consistently monitored to ensure that support remains proactive, learning opportunities are maximised and every individual achievement is celebrated.
